On a routine sweep for news, I found a post on a local residents' association website linking an address to ‘Airbnb party houses,’ and calling on other residents to submit their complaints directly to the council.

Large occupancy short term lets are a very hot topic in Bath so I contacted the association for more details of their complaint. It seemed they had unfairly made assumptions about the resident business but were unwilling to engage in discussion, sticking to a limited statement.

The business owner was upset by the accusations, but my sensitive approach meant she trusted me to share her full defence which ended up being a far better story than the original complaint.

The story had 34,517 page views and a long engagement time of 1m7s. It also attracted an outpouring of support on social media.
